Qantas reaches provisional wage agreement with long‑haul pilots
Qantas and the Australian and International Pilots Association (AIPA) announced a provisional agreement on a new enterprise deal for about 1,700 long‑haul pilots. The deal, covering crews on Airbus A380, A330 and Boeing 787 aircraft, includes significant pay rises, improved rostering and additional career‑progression opportunities. AIPA President Andrew Marshall said the parties are hopeful the agreement can be formalised in the coming days. The agreement follows a protected ballot in which a majority of long‑haul pilots voted in favour of industrial action. Short‑haul pilots are negotiating a separate arrangement, and a Qantas ground‑workers union has indicated it will soon vote on its own industrial action.
