QantasLink donates retired Fokker F100 to aviation museum

QantasLink has donated its retired Fokker F100 jet, named ‘Meekatharra’, to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS). Following its final flight across Australia, the aircraft landed at Shellharbour Airport in New South Wales to begin its new role as a public exhibit.

Since entering service with QantasLink in December 2016, the aircraft logged over 11,250 flight hours and carried approximately one million passengers. It played a vital role in connecting regional Western Australian communities, including Kalgoorlie, Newman, and Paraburdoo, while supporting the local resource industry.

This is the second Fokker F100 donated by QantasLink to HARS, following a previous donation to the organization’s Parkes Museum in February. The aircraft will be displayed alongside other significant pieces of aviation history, such as Qantas’ first Boeing 747-400, VH-OJA. QantasLink is currently transitioning its fleet from the Fokker F100 to Embraer E190 aircraft to enhance fuel efficiency and reliability.
