Qatar accuses Netanyahu of obstructing Gaza peace plan

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has identified Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the ‘most significant obstacle’ to the implementation of the Gaza peace plan. In an interview, Al Thani alleged that Israel has failed to meet obligations established in the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement reached on October 9, 2025.

The agreement, which was mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, included the first phase of a peace plan for Gaza. Al Thani claimed that while Hamas fulfilled its obligations by releasing captives, Israel has breached commitments regarding troop withdrawals, ceasefires, and the delivery of humanitarian aid.

According to the Qatari diplomat, Israel currently controls over 70 percent of the Gaza Strip and continues to conduct attacks despite the hostilities ceasefire agreement. Furthermore, Al Thani noted a significant discrepancy in humanitarian aid: while the pact mandates an average of at least 600 trucks per day, the actual effective average is only approximately 150 trucks. He stated that Israel is restricting essential supplies, including food, medicine, and shelter materials, amidst a critical humanitarian situation.
