Qatar Airways partners with Chef Dieuveil Malonga
Qatar Airways has selected Chef Dieuveil Malonga as the first African chef to join its ‘Flavours to Fly For’ culinary collaboration programme. The initiative partners the airline with renowned chefs from Michelin-starred and World’s Top 50 restaurants to enhance its in-flight dining experience.
Malonga, who has experience in six Michelin-starred restaurants, has developed exclusive signature dishes for passengers on selected routes. His culinary style utilizes an Afrofusion approach, combining traditional influences from his travels across 48 African countries with contemporary techniques.
Beyond his work in professional kitchens, Malonga is a prominent figure in the African culinary sector. He founded the ‘Chefs in Africa’ social enterprise and the ‘Culinary Innovation Village’ scholarship programme, which supports approximately 4,000 chefs. He also established ‘Meza Malonga’, a culinary centre and farm focused on sustainable African gastronomy.
