Qatar Airways to Open Two Lounges at Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3
Qatar Airways is preparing to operate two separate lounge spaces in the non‑Schengen area of Frankfurt Airport’s newly built Terminal 3. A sign for a construction permit observed at the airport indicates the lounges will be located near the existing SkyTeam lounge.
The airline is expected to follow the model used at London Heathrow, offering a premium lounge for first‑ and business‑class passengers and a dedicated frequent‑flyer lounge for oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members. This development addresses the current lack of a dedicated oneworld lounge at Frankfurt, which serves several alliance carriers including American, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Oman Air, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines.
While no formal announcement has been made, the plan promises to enhance ground‑service facilities for oneworld travelers using Frankfurt, a major European hub without a dominant alliance carrier.
