Qatar Ambassador Engages Yogyakarta Governor and Muhammadiyah Leaders on Cultural and Education Cooperation

Qatar’s ambassador to Indonesia, Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al‑Dosari, met Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at the Complex Kepatihan. The two discussed a planned Qatari cultural delegation to Yogyakarta in December 2026, marking 50 years of diplomatic ties, and revisited a museum‑development partnership that had been delayed by the Gaza conflict.

In a separate meeting, the ambassador visited the central board of Muhammadiyah, led by Haedar Nashir. They explored deeper cooperation in education and health, with Qatar expressing interest in Indonesian medical graduates and potential student‑exchange programmes. The ambassador also thanked Muhammadiyah for its condolences on the recent death of former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al‑Thani, underscoring the strong bilateral relationship.
