Qatar and Egypt sign four cooperation agreements

Qatar and Egypt have signed four bilateral agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in customs, regulatory work, development, and health. A key component of the health agreement includes the establishment of the ‘His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Hospital’ in the Sohag Governorate of Egypt.

During the seventh session of the Joint Higher Committee, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Egyptian officials discussed regional security, specifically focusing on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as maritime security in the Gulf. The discussions also touched upon supply chain solutions and regional stability.

Experts note that this strengthening of ties carries significant political and economic weight. The coordination between Cairo and Doha is seen as vital for regional mediation efforts and diplomatic pressure regarding the Gaza conflict. Economically, the partnership leverages Qatar’s foreign investment capabilities and Egypt’s strategic position as a gateway to African markets through agreements like COMESA.
