Qatar Boosts Climate‑Controlled Outdoor Attractions and Yacht Market for Affluent Residents

Qatar is expanding its leisure infrastructure with a series of climate‑controlled outdoor destinations that allow residents and visitors to enjoy public spaces year‑round. Notable projects include Gewan Island’s Crystal Walk, which holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest outdoor air‑conditioned mall, and the Centro precinct in Rawdat Al Hamama, both featuring advanced cooling technology and extensive retail and dining options. Additional venues such as Katara Cultural Village’s 21 High St and Place Vendôme in Lusail City also combine innovative cooling solutions with cultural and lifestyle amenities.

Alongside these developments, Qatar’s luxury yacht sector is undergoing a transformation. Ownership, once limited to royalty, is now attracting a younger generation of affluent families and regional elites who view yachts as lifestyle assets for family leisure. The market is supported by new maritime infrastructure, including Lusail Marina and facilities at The Pearl‑Qatar, and is projected to reach USD 50.7 million by 2025, growing at a 5.4 % CAGR through 2033.
