Qatar explores investment opportunities in Panjshir

Qatar’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mardof Al-Qashouti, visited Panjshir to discuss investment and development projects within the province. During meetings with Panjshir Governor Hafiz Mohammad Agha Hakim, officials highlighted the region's economic potential in sectors including agriculture, mining, infrastructure, and tourism.

Panjshir officials emphasized the province's horticultural strengths, specifically noting that products such as apples, cherries, grapes, and walnuts present significant opportunities for investment in fruit processing, packaging, and marketing. The ambassador reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to the region, stating intentions to invest in companies dedicated to processing Panjshir’s fresh and dried fruits.

Regarding the mining sector, officials noted that approximately 600 mines are currently operational, with an additional 2,000 mines identified in the province. This visit is part of broader efforts by the local administration to expand international relations and attract capital from Islamic countries and Arab businesses.
