Qatar Foundation concludes second Qiyada youth leadership conference

Qatar Foundation concluded the second edition of the ‘Qiyada: Aspirations and Development of Muslim Youth in Qatar’ conference held at Education City. The two-day event, themed ‘Flourishing in a Changing World Guided by Faith,’ brought together over 1,300 young participants aged 17 to 24, alongside scholars, educators, and thought leaders.

The conference focused on themes of faith, identity, and leadership, providing a platform for interactive dialogue on how youth can navigate modern global transformations. Key sessions included discussions on integrity-based leadership, the role of spirituality in character building, and the impact of social media and behavioral sciences on decision-making.

Speakers such as human rights activist Dr. Omar Suleiman emphasized the importance of discipline and focusing on core societal needs rather than minor distractions. Dr. Hanan Ahmed Al-Qattan addressed the concept of ‘leader fragility,’ noting that authentic leadership involves self-awareness and empathy. The event was supported by the Ministry of Sports and Youth and sponsored by Qatar International Islamic Bank, featuring a collaborative session with Doha Debates connecting participants with youth in Mexico to discuss international law and ethics.
