Qatar launches field phase of Watan 2026 exercise

Qatar has commenced the field phase of the sixth edition of the Watan 2026 exercise, involving more than 40 military, security, and civil entities. The drills aim to enhance national readiness and test response mechanisms for emergencies and crises.

The exercise includes participation from French entities to facilitate the exchange of expertise. During the first day, Major General Mohammed bin Sultan Al Suwaidi, Commander of the Amiri Guard, visited the National Command Center to observe scenarios simulating various emergency situations and to review coordination mechanisms between different agencies.

Qatar Airways announced that field procedures simulating emergency responses are being conducted at Hamad International Airport. The airline noted that while passengers may observe field activity and aerial exercises in specific locations, flight operations and passenger services will continue as normal.
