Qatar PM to visit Tehran for regional security and mediation talks
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani is scheduled to visit Tehran to engage in talks aimed at easing regional tensions and fostering diplomatic dialogue.
According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei, the visit focuses on developing bilateral relations and strengthening regional peace and security. Baghaei noted Qatar’s recent efforts to prevent escalation following a military attack on Tehran.
Discussions are expected to cover Qatar’s mediation initiatives and critical maritime issues, specifically the freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar intends to advocate for a return to the maritime status quo that existed prior to February 28.
