Qatar prepares 282 schools for 2026-2027 academic year

Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that preparations are complete for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year, which is scheduled to begin next Sunday. Approximately 148,000 students will be accommodated across 282 public schools and 69 government kindergartens.

Maryam Ali Al-Nisf Al-Buainain, Director of School and Student Affairs, stated that the ministry utilized the summer break to conduct comprehensive maintenance and facility upgrades to ensure a safe learning environment. The readiness plan is built on four strategic pillars: ensuring smooth student enrollment and transfers, implementing a unified reference system through updated administrative and psychological support guides, preparing centralized student activity plans, and enhancing administrative governance through digital restructuring on the Microsoft Teams platform.
