Qatar accuses Netanyahu of obstructing Gaza peace plan
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani has identified Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the primary obstacle to the progress of the US-backed Gaza peace plan. In an interview with CNN, Al-Thani stated that the Israeli government has committed numerous violations that undermine mediation efforts.
In response to accusations made by Netanyahu at the United Nations regarding Qatar's alleged support for Hamas, Qatari officials have issued strong denials. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized Netanyahu's claims as a transparent attempt to deflect international attention from humanitarian violations and crimes committed by Israeli forces in Gaza and occupied Palestinian territories.
Qatar reiterated that its financial assistance is directed toward the Palestinian people and has never been intended for the military structures of Hamas. Additionally, Al-Thani condemned any attempts to use maritime routes for political blackmail, calling for the guarantee of freedom of navigation in the region.
