Qatar tourism arrivals reach 2.34 million in first eight months of 2026

Qatar welcomed approximately 2.338 million international visitors during the first eight months of 2026, according to data released by Qatar Tourism. The figures indicate a strengthening tourism sector, with August arrivals reaching 303,000, a 6.3 percent increase from July.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) remains the largest source of visitors, accounting for 41 percent of total arrivals with 958,000 travelers. This represents an increase in market share compared to 2025, when GCC visitors made up 35 percent of arrivals.

Other significant visitor markets include Asia and Oceania, which contributed 489,000 visitors (20.9 percent), and Europe, which contributed 486,000 visitors (20.8 percent). Visitors from the Americas accounted for 169,000 arrivals, or 7.2 percent of the total.
