QazaqGaz joins UN-backed methane emissions reduction initiative

QazaqGaz has officially joined the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0), a global initiative led by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) to reduce methane emissions in the energy sector.

As part of this commitment, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with UNEP and a cooperation agreement with the Norwegian firm Carbon Limits. The partnership will focus on monitoring, inventorying emission sources, and implementing solutions to mitigate methane leaks at QazaqGaz production facilities. OGMP 2.0 serves as a measurement-based international reporting framework for the oil and gas industry.
