qdc and AyuTo announce EVOLVER hybrid in-ear monitors

AyuTo and qdc have announced the release of the ‘EVOLVER’, a concept universal in-ear monitor (IEM) scheduled for launch on October 24. Priced at 38,500 yen, the device is positioned as a step-up model from the entry-level ‘SUPERIOR’ series.

The EVOLVER features a newly developed 10.6mm hybrid coaxial driver that combines a dynamic driver with a Magnetostatic (MST) driver in a single unit. The dynamic driver utilizes a 20μm aluminum diaphragm, while the MST tweeter employs an amorphous FeSiBCuNb alloy. This specialized alloy is designed to provide high hardness and low distortion, enabling clear sound reproduction across a wide frequency range of 10Hz to 50kHz.

Designed with ergonomics in mind, the IEM aims to provide a fit comparable to custom-made monitors. The faceplate features a ‘Magic Powder’ design that changes color depending on the viewing angle. The package includes a 4-core silver-plated copper cable with a 2-in-1 multi-plug supporting both 3.5mm unbalanced and 4.4mm balanced connections, along with various ear tips and a carrying case.
