Qiddiya City expands sports masterplan with new tennis and golf facilities
Qiddiya City, located 45km southwest of Riyadh, is advancing its sports masterplan with the development of the National Tennis Centre and the Qiddiya City Golf Course. Designed by the architecture firm Populous, the National Tennis Centre will feature 30 tennis courts, including 28 hard courts and 2 clay courts, with a total seating capacity of 33,000. The complex includes a 15,000-seat Centre Court with a retractable roof intended for major international events, alongside an 8,000-seat multi-use indoor arena.
The name Qiddiya is derived from the historic geographic location where the modern development is being constructed, rather than being a newly created brand. The area has long-standing historical roots in central Arabia, situated near traditional travel and pilgrimage routes.
