Qive launches Projeto VOA to empower women in technology
Qive, an accounts payable platform, has launched the fifth edition of Projeto VOA, an initiative designed to prepare female students from public schools in São Carlos for the technology and innovation market. The program provides 56 hours of training, combining mentorship, entrepreneurship, and practical skills.
Over the past four years, the project has reached 76 students. This has resulted in 15 participants joining the company as apprentices and five securing internships at Qive. The 2026 edition expanded its reach by opening applications to public school students outside of the project’s traditional partner institutions.
Isis Abbud, co-CEO of Qive, noted the low female presence in Brazil’s technology sector. Data from the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG) supports this, indicating that women occupy only 20.7% of roles in ‘professions of the future,’ such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
