QJMotor develops high-performance X-Adventure 900 maxi-scooter
Leaked details and concept images from Asia suggest QJMotor is developing the X-Adventure 900, a high-performance maxi-scooter designed with crossover motorcycle characteristics. The vehicle aims to compete in a high-power segment currently dominated by models with significantly lower output.
The proposed model is expected to feature a 904cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, similar to those used in the SRT 900 series, producing approximately 95 CV (70 kW) and 90 Nm of torque. This power level notably exceeds competitors such as the Honda X-ADV, which produces around 59 CV, and the Yamaha TMAX, which typically stays below 50 CV.
A key technical highlight is the transmission. Instead of a traditional CVT variator, the X-Adventure 900 is expected to utilize a six-speed automated dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with a chain final drive. This setup combines the convenience of automatic shifting with the performance of a mechanical gearbox. The design also incorporates motorcycle-style chassis elements, including inverted front forks and larger wheels, to facilitate both urban and light off-road use.
