QNAP Systems announces new enterprise backup software and ZFS-NAS hardware

QNAP Systems has introduced new enterprise storage solutions, including the beta version of HDP for Business and the TVS-hx77AX series of hybrid ZFS-NAS systems.

HDP for Business is a backup platform designed to transform existing NAS devices into centralized backup and recovery verification centers. It aims to address ransomware threats and complex hybrid IT environments by unifying management for virtual machines (such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Proxmox), physical servers, and various file servers like Nutanix and NetApp. The software utilizes a Zero Trust framework and integrates with the QuTS hero operating system to provide immutable data backups.

The TVS-hx77AX series, featuring models with 8, 12, and 16 bays, is optimized for AI training, virtualization, and 4K video projects. These systems utilize AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors and support up to 192 GB of DDR5 memory. To reduce latency, the hardware supports NFS over RDMA via 25GbE SmartNICs, allowing data to transfer directly between systems without CPU involvement, achieving speeds comparable to local NVMe SSDs.
