QNAP Systems launches HDP for Business Beta for NAS backup
QNAP Systems, Inc. has announced the beta release of HDP for Business, a solution designed to transform existing QNAP NAS servers into centralized enterprise backup centers. The software aims to address the increasing complexity of hybrid IT environments and the rising threat of ransomware attacks.
Key features of the solution include automated recovery verification and video recording of the restoration process to provide verifiable proof that data can be successfully recovered. This functionality is intended to reduce the burden of IT audits and ensure business continuity. The platform supports a wide range of environments, including virtual machines (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Proxmox), Windows servers and PCs, various file storage systems (Nutanix, NetApp, SMB/rsync), and databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
Built on Zero Trust principles, the solution focuses on data immutability and isolation to protect backups from being compromised during a cyberattack, allowing companies to utilize existing hardware rather than investing in specialized, expensive backup equipment.
