Qonto launches Insights platform to monitor European SME health
Qonto has launched Insights, a free platform designed to track the financial health of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Europe using aggregated and anonymized data.
Initial data from September reveals significant financial pressure on Italian SMEs. The median liquidity duration for Italian firms dropped to 9.5 days, and average invoice payment times reached 51.2 days. Furthermore, only 27.8% of Italian SMEs maintain sufficient liquidity reserves for at least one month, a figure notably lower than in France (42.4%) and Germany (41.1%).
Regarding payment delays, 28.1% of Italian SME invoices were paid late in September. This compares to 27.5% in Germany, 32.4% in France, and 38.9% in Spain.
Despite these challenges, there are signs of increased competitiveness. Approximately 21.3% of Italian SMEs are engaging in international transactions across 90 different countries. Additionally, the adoption of artificial intelligence is rising, with usage exceeding 20% among professional and digital service firms in Italy.
