Qonto targets SME growth in Southern Europe via AI and new tools
Qonto is focusing on artificial intelligence, new credit tools, and the pursuit of a future banking license to support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Southern Europe. Lorenzo Pireddu, Managing Director for Southern Europe at Qonto, stated that the company aims to simplify administrative management for businesses and freelancers through services such as electronic invoicing, expense management, and corporate cards.
In Italy, Qonto has introduced 'Company Creation' in partnership with the accounting firm ITAdvisor. This service is designed to assist entrepreneurs through the bureaucratic processes of starting a business, including notary services, INPS registration, and capital deposits, with the goal of reducing the time required to establish a company.
The company has also integrated artificial intelligence by supporting the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This allows users to query their accounts using conversational agents like ChatGPT or Claude to retrieve information such as balances or expected cash flows without manually opening the application.
