Qoo10 brand rice rankings show Akita Komachi dominance

eBay Japan has released the top five brand rice sales rankings for the Qoo10 shopping mall, coinciding with the arrival of the new rice season.

Akita Prefecture’s Akita Komachi variety dominated the rankings, with all top five spots held by various quantities of Akita Komachi pre-washed rice (musenmai) sold by Minatonoen. The fourth-place position was held by Fusaotome, an early-harvest variety from Chiba Prefecture known for its large grains and light flavor.
