Qrobús suspends bank card payments in Querétaro for certification
The Qrobús public transportation system in Querétaro has temporarily suspended bank card payments for debit and credit cards. The suspension began on September 30 and is expected to last until October 7, with services scheduled to resume on October 8.
Gerardo Cuanalo Santos, director of the Agencia de Movilidad del Estado de Querétaro (AMEQ), stated that the interruption is due to a mandatory technological certification process for the validators, which function as banking terminals. The certification is being handled by the company Prosa. Cuanalo Santos clarified that there is no change in banking institutions, only a required technical update.
Approximately 12,000 users per month rely on bank cards for their trips. During this period, passengers are encouraged to use alternative payment methods, including the Qrobús prepaid card, the Qrobús mobile application (via QR codes), Qrobús vouchers, or single-use tickets.
