Qualcomm and BMW Sign Decade-Long Chip Supply Deal for Future Vehicles
Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and the BMW Group have signed a multi‑year agreement that will see Qualcomm provide its Snapdragon Digital Chassis silicon for BMW’s next‑generation digital cockpits, advanced driver‑assistance systems (ADAS) and automated‑driving functions. The deal covers high‑performance Snapdragon Elite system‑on‑chips and AI accelerators and is intended to form the hardware foundation for BMW’s AI‑led vehicle platforms over the coming ten years. No financial terms were disclosed.
The partnership builds on the earlier Snapdragon Ride Pilot system that was first deployed in the BMW iX3 electric model as part of the company’s Neue Klasse EV platform. Qualcomm, a dominant supplier of smartphone chips, is expanding deeper into automotive electronics, competing with firms such as Nvidia and Mobileye. Nakul Duggal, Qualcomm’s group general manager for automotive, said, "As agentic and physical AI drive a new generation of intelligent vehicles, this collaboration enables both companies to define the future of mobility."
