Qualcomm reveals AI graphics details as Poco launches X8 smartphone
Qualcomm has revealed technical details regarding the graphics architecture for its upcoming flagship processor, potentially named the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. The new system features Adreno Matrix cores designed for local AI processing directly within the graphics pipeline. This is supported by Adreno Neural Fusion technology, which integrates neural processing, AI resolution upscaling, and frame generation to improve image quality and frame rates while maintaining energy efficiency. Qualcomm claims this approach can reduce power consumption by up to 40 percent compared to previous solutions.
In separate hardware news, Poco has officially introduced the Poco X8 for the global market. The device features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and offers various RAM and storage configurations, including up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The smartphone includes a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a large 8,340 mAh battery with 67W wired charging.
