Qualcomm showcases industrial AI and robotics at Dragonwing IoT Day in Seoul
Qualcomm Technologies hosted the ‘Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT Day’ in Seoul, showcasing 16 demonstrations focused on industrial artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). The event, held at The Grand Lotte Seoul, brought together approximately 500 representatives from major South Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus.
The demonstrations highlighted advancements in robotics, smart homes, industrial automation, and agentic AI—a method where AI can make decisions and execute tasks within a specific scope rather than just responding to prompts. Key technical introductions included Qualcomm Linux 2.0, the Qualcomm Intelligent Robotics Product (QIRP) SDK, and the Dragonwing platform designed for B2B applications such as industrial equipment, robots, and cameras.
Partner companies showcased various implementations, such as industrial handheld devices from Point Mobile, vision language models and drone modules from Advantech, and quadrupeds and AI home hubs from SST. Qualcomm’s strategy emphasizes distributing AI computation across devices, edges, and the cloud to reduce latency and network dependency in industrial settings.
