Bac Ninh attracts $4.1 billion in FDI amid industrial growth
Bac Ninh province is experiencing significant economic activity, characterized by high FDI inflows and industrial growth. In the first nine months of 2026, the province attracted approximately $4.1 billion in FDI and recorded total import-export values of $178 billion. However, officials have noted a heavy reliance on foreign-invested enterprises, with local businesses struggling to integrate deeply into high-tech supply chains.
To address this, the province is implementing administrative reforms and supporting digital transformation. Collaborations, such as the program between the Bac Ninh People's Committee and Samsung Vietnam, have helped local manufacturers adopt smart factory technologies, increasing labor productivity by up to 40%. Companies like Thang Long Packaging are utilizing digitalization to modernize production management.
In the real estate sector, investment capital is shifting from Hanoi toward Bac Ninh. Due to high property prices and slowing liquidity in the capital, investors are drawn to Bac Ninh’s robust industrial ecosystem, which includes roughly 40 active industrial zones and expanding regional infrastructure.
Separately, Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation (KBC) reported its highest quarterly profit since 2023, with Q3 2026 net profit reaching 937 billion VND. This growth was driven by increased industrial park business revenue, despite a 23% decrease in cumulative nine-month profit and rising inventory levels exceeding 35,000 billion VND.
