Quang Ninh fishery port fire destroys 19 boats, inflicts nearly 2.6 billion VND loss

A fire broke out at the Phúc Tiến fishery port in Đầm Hà commune, Quảng Ninh Province, at about 03:37 a.m. on 1 August 2026. The blaze quickly engulfed the area and was fully extinguished by 04:45 a.m. after coordinated efforts by local police, security forces, the commune’s military command and the provincial fire‑rescue team.

The incident destroyed 19 motor boats owned by 17 individuals and two local agencies – the Đầm Hà commune police and the Commune’s Construction, Agriculture and Environment Department. No injuries were reported. Preliminary assessments put the material loss at roughly 2.6 billion VND (about US$110 k). Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause, involving the provincial police, the Ministry of Public Security, the Institute of Criminal Science and other relevant bodies, while also organizing cleanup and support for affected households.
