Quang Ninh intensifies fire prevention and rescue efforts

Authorities in Quang Ninh are prioritizing early fire prevention and rescue efforts to protect lives and property. Since the beginning of 2026, the city has recorded 91 fire incidents, none of which resulted in fatalities. The majority of these incidents were caused by electrical equipment failures or negligence regarding fire and heat sources.

To mitigate risks, the Quang Ninh Fire Prevention and Rescue Police are coordinating with various departments. The Department of Construction is reviewing transport infrastructure and water sources for firefighting, while the Department of Industry and Trade is increasing inspections of electrical and gas safety, particularly in markets. Local authorities are also tasked with reviewing high-risk residential and commercial buildings.

In response to rising fire concerns, safety experts emphasize the importance of installing circuit breakers, using fire-resistant materials for building structures, and maintaining automatic fire alarm systems. In high-rise buildings, residents are advised to identify the location of smoke and flames immediately. If smoke is descending from above or present on the current floor, individuals should use emergency exits to move to lower floors and avoid using elevators.
