Quang Ninh police prosecute seven for social housing fraud

The Quang Ninh Provincial Police have initiated criminal proceedings against seven individuals involved in a scheme to falsify documents to illegally purchase social housing. The investigation centered on the social housing project located in the Ngan Hang residential area in Ha Lam ward.

Authorities discovered irregularities in registration files, specifically regarding employment history, labor contracts, and income levels. The investigation revealed that several individuals, who were not eligible for social housing benefits, conspired with company directors and other business representatives to forge seals and documents. These falsified records were used to meet eligibility requirements and seize housing quotas intended for qualified beneficiaries.

Police have warned the public to be cautious of social media advertisements offering services to “guarantee eligibility” or “handle entire dossiers” for social housing. They also advised businesses to strictly manage official seals and signatures, and urged developers to increase verification of applicant information.
