Quang Ninh reports rising accident risks from illegal overtaking

Authorities in Quang Ninh are highlighting the dangers of illegal overtaking, which has been linked to eight traffic accidents in the region since the beginning of the year. Drivers often attempt to overtake in high-traffic areas, on curved roads with limited visibility, or by encroaching into oncoming lanes, often due to impatience or misjudging distances.

Traffic police officials note that these maneuvers significantly increase the risk of head-on collisions. The high density of vehicles on national and provincial roads in Quang Ninh makes improper overtaking particularly hazardous, as drivers may fail to account for changing speeds and safe following distances.
