Quang Ninh shifts to digital economy and invests in school infrastructure

Quang Ninh is transitioning its economic growth model by prioritizing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Moving away from a traditional reliance on natural resources like coal and maritime trade, the province aims to create a new development space driven by knowledge and digital connectivity to enhance economic productivity and competitiveness.

In tandem with these technological shifts, the province is investing approximately 480 billion VND to improve public school infrastructure. This initiative includes the free installation of air conditioning units and rooftop solar power systems across 553 public educational facilities. The project aims to mitigate the impact of extreme heat on teaching and learning environments. To manage the resulting electricity costs, Quang Ninh plans to expand rooftop solar energy installations at public schools through 2030, prioritizing larger institutions with stable facilities.
