Quang Ninh targets international tourism hub status
Quang Ninh is positioning itself as a major international service and tourism hub, leveraging its status as a growing city and its unique heritage sites, including Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu. According to the National Authority of Tourism, the province has transitioned from resource extraction to a modern, sustainable tourism model supported by synchronized transport infrastructure, including international airports and seaports.
In the first eight months of 2026, Quang Ninh welcomed approximately 17.1 million visitors, a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Tourism revenue reached over 51 trillion VND, representing a 23% increase. Long-term urban planning aims for the province to host 28 to 30 million visitors by 2030, with international arrivals reaching 9 to 10 million. By 2050, the province envisions becoming an international heritage-value city and a maritime economic gateway, targeting 40 to 45 million total visitors.
