Quang Ninh uses sports events to boost autumn tourism

Sports events are being utilized to stimulate autumn tourism in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam. Following the summer peak, various competitions are being organized to attract new visitor flows and extend the tourism season.

Key events include the Yen Tu Ultra Trail 2026, which brought nearly 2,000 athletes from 12 countries and territories to the Yen Tu World Heritage site to compete in distances ranging from 5km to 70km. This was followed by the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2026, attracting approximately 2,500 participants for swimming and running competitions.

Upcoming activities include the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon, expected to draw around 18,000 athletes in November, as well as the Yen Tu Heritage and Amata Run. Localized activities such as mountain climbing, cycling, and heritage markets are also being implemented across various communes to diversify the tourism experience.
