Quang Tri authorities bust ring smuggling 15 Lao nationals into Vietnam

Border guards in Quang Tri province, Vietnam, have dismantled a human smuggling ring responsible for illegally transporting 15 Lao nationals into the country. The operation was initiated on August 29 when authorities intercepted Ho Van Ngheo while he was transporting two Lao citizens without identification documents.

A subsequent search of Ngheo’s residence uncovered seven additional Lao nationals lacking proper immigration paperwork. Further investigation led to the detention of two other suspects, Ho Thi Khanh and Ho Thi A Ut. The suspects admitted to organizing the illegal entry of 15 Lao nationals, who were intended to seek employment in Ho Chi Minh City.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated, and the case has been transferred to the Quang Tri provincial police for further investigation. Authorities are currently working to locate the remaining six Lao nationals involved in the scheme.
