Quang Tri Province cancels exam results after cheating scandal
The Quang Tri provincial Department of Education launched an investigation after social‑media posts alleged misconduct at the Lê Trực High School exam centre. The probe confirmed that five candidates, including the son of school principal Nguyen Minh Duc, had their graduation‑exam results annulled.
Authorities identified two teachers and nine students directly involved in the cheating. On 17 July, the provincial police charged two suspects – teacher Tran Duc Luc, a mathematics department head and deputy exam supervisor, and another individual – with abusing their official positions during the exam. The principal denied that his son received any assistance and said he did not take part in exam duties this year.
The investigation led to the cancellation of the affected candidates' results and the initiation of criminal proceedings, highlighting concerns over exam integrity in the province.
