Quang Tri province invests 90 billion VND in landmine clearance
Quang Tri province has approved a 90 billion VND investment for a landmine and unexploded ordnance clearance project spanning 2026 to 2030. The initiative aims to clear approximately 2,400 hectares of land to create safe environments for socio-economic development.
The project will be managed by the Provincial Military Command using mid-term public investment funds. Implementation will take place across six communes: Hoa Trach, Trung Thuan, Nam Trach, Ben Quan, Vinh Thuy, and Sen Ngu. The scope includes technical surveys, clearance, collection, classification, and the destruction of explosives to a depth of 0.5 meters.
This project is part of the National Action Programme to address the consequences of war-related landmines and unexploded ordnance for the 2026–2045 period. By neutralizing these hazards, the province seeks to protect residents and unlock land for infrastructure and production in areas heavily impacted by past conflicts.
