Quang Tri Province launches major redevelopment plan to revive Nhat Le Beach
The Quang Tri provincial government, chaired by Vice Chairman Phan Phong Phú, approved a comprehensive plan to reconstruct the Nhat Le coastal area and transform it into a modern seaside city. The scheme includes widening the Truong Phap road to a minimum of four lanes, with an initial allocation of over VND 157 billion and a total projected road investment of about VND 300 billion.
A parallel coastal‑protection project, budgeted at roughly VND 610 billion, will build erosion‑control structures, conduct hydraulic‑dynamic modelling and develop sand‑transport mechanisms to replenish the beach. The master plan also envisions a waterfront promenade with public squares, parks, parking facilities and service zones, while preserving open sea‑view spaces on the eastern side of the road. Additionally, the province will reclaim land formerly occupied by 29 restaurant leases that have expired, clearing the area for the new coastal layout.
All project proposals have been completed and are awaiting approval for inclusion in the 2027 public investment plan, aiming to boost tourism competitiveness and address the long‑standing problem of annual beach erosion.
