Rocket Lab and quantum firms report significant growth and capital shifts

Several high-tech companies reported significant financial shifts in their recent quarterly results. Rocket Lab reported record Q2 2026 revenue of $234 million, a 62% year-over-year increase, driven largely by its Space Systems division which now accounts for approximately 81% of total revenue. The company's backlog has reached a record $2.36 billion.

In the quantum computing sector, Quantinuum completed a $1.7 billion IPO, bringing its cash reserves to $2.1 billion. Despite a reported GAAP net loss of $597 million, the company saw revenue surge 279% year-over-year to $8 million and is expanding its Helios platform through a partnership with Oracle. D-Wave Quantum also reported a massive 1,120% surge in first-half bookings, totaling $35.5 million, bolstered by a $20 million system sale to Florida Atlantic University, even as quarterly revenue remained flat at $3.1 million.

These developments highlight a period of intense capital investment and scaling within the space and quantum computing industries.
