Quantum computing researchers advance software and circuit efficiency
Recent advancements in quantum computing research have highlighted new developments in software accessibility and circuit efficiency.
Khalifa University has announced that ‘quantum-learn’, an open-source Python library developed by undergraduate students, has joined the IBM Qiskit Ecosystem. The library is designed to simplify quantum machine learning (QML) by abstracting lower-level configurations and providing reusable interfaces for quantum circuits and optimizers, reducing the setup burden for researchers and developers.
Separately, researchers from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences have introduced a graph-based method to reduce the costs of building quantum circuits. By using a graph to represent circuit construction and encoding based on the antisymmetrized two-electron Hamiltonian coupling, the method achieves chemical accuracy while minimizing resource-intensive quantum measurements. Tests on systems ranging from eight to twenty qubits showed that this approach can match the operator counts of full gradient-based selection while avoiding traditional iterative screening processes.
