Maria Karystianou threatens to leave Greece if party fails to enter Parliament

Maria Karystianou, leader of the political party ‘Elpida gia ti Dimokratia’, has stated that she will leave Greece if her party fails to secure parliamentary representation. Karystianou, formerly associated with the Tempi victims' movement, expressed frustration with the Greek political system and a perceived lack of accountability regarding ongoing scandals.

Karystianou is also embroiled in a dispute with Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis regarding her use of the term ‘quantum medicine.’ While Georgiadis has criticized the concept, Karystianou defends it as the application of quantum science and technology in medical diagnostics and treatment. Some reports note that while ‘quantum medicine’ is often dismissed by medical professionals, scientific literature such as PubMed contains research on ‘quantum biomedicine’ and its applications in precision medicine.

Polling data indicates a decline in support for Karystianou’s party, with recent estimates placing its intention to vote between 3% and 5%, down from higher levels earlier in the year. Karystianou has responded to these trends by lowering her party's electoral target to approximately 3%.
