Quantum Systems uses CIA-linked investment to enter U.S. market

German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems utilized support from In-Q-Tel (IQT), a venture capital firm linked to the CIA, to establish a presence in the United States. Co-CEO Sven Kruck stated that IQT helped the company open doors in Washington, facilitating contracts with the CIA and the FBI.

While the direct revenue from these reconnaissance contracts has been described as modest, the partnership provided significant credibility and a psychological boost for the company. This development highlights the influence of American intelligence networks and capital on European defense startups, even as European nations seek greater military independence from the United States.
