Quantum team wins Grupo Ramos retail hackathon

AlphaRamos Week hackathon retail innovation UCSD students Dominican Republic

The Quantum team, composed of students from the Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD), won first place in the AlphaRamos Week 2026 hackathon. Organized by Grupo Ramos, the competition brought together more than 60 students from various higher education institutions in the Dominican Republic to develop innovative solutions for the challenges and future of the retail sector.

The winning team included Nahum Smith Ramos and Jeffry Daniel Patiño Ortega, students of Computer Systems Engineering, and Tianny Arnaud, a student of Advertising. The initiative aimed to foster young talent and promote interdisciplinary work by addressing real-world business needs through technology and innovation.
