Quantum Valley Pakistan launches national innovation platform
Quantum Valley Pakistan (QVP) was officially launched in Islamabad on 16 September 2026. The national initiative aims to integrate Pakistan’s fragmented innovation ecosystem by connecting universities, research institutions, startups, and government bodies into a single platform.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal inaugurated the project, emphasizing that the nation’s future depends on intellectual capability and the potential of its 60% youth population. The initiative focuses on diverse sectors, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, fintech, agritech, biotechnology, medtech, and autonomous technologies.
During the launch, two formal agreements were signed to support the ecosystem: one with the Cambridge Innovation Center and another with Plug and Play. The framework for QVP was developed in partnership with the St John’s Innovation Centre at Cambridge University, incorporating lessons from the development of Silicon Valley.
