Quantus launches QTC token with quantum-proof security
Quantus has launched its native QTC token on the NEAR Protocol, positioning the asset as a post-quantum security solution for the blockchain industry. The token utilizes a proof-of-work system with a capped supply of 21,000,000 QTC, mirroring the Bitcoin model.
At launch, 27% of the total supply is unlocked, with 4.83 million tokens allocated to investors and the team. The remaining 73% of the supply will be distributed through mining. The genesis supply is accessible via the NEAR Intents cross-chain platform, allowing users to trade the asset without relying on centralized exchanges.
Quantus aims to protect digital assets and transactions from future threats posed by advances in quantum computing, which could potentially compromise current cryptographic standards. The network also incorporates zero-knowledge proofs to provide privacy by default. Christopher Smith, CEO of Quantus, stated that the integration with NEAR enables permissionless markets and brings post-quantum security to a broader on-chain market.
