Quanzhou authorities penalize 800 drivers for mobile phone use

In Quanzhou, China, authorities have penalized over 800 drivers for using mobile phones while driving since April 10. A significant portion of these violations occurred while drivers were waiting at red lights. The enforcement has affected taxi and rental car drivers, with penalties including a 50 Yuan fine and two points added to traffic registers.

In the United States, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signed Senate Bill 366, which prohibits the use of handheld devices in school zones and construction areas. The law includes a grace period where warnings will be issued until June 30, 2027, after which violators may face a 60 US dollar fine and additional court costs.
