The Quarteira Dog Park in Loulé has received a new visual identity through a large-scale artistic mural. Located on Avenida de Ceuta, the park is the first public facility of its kind in the Loulé municipality.
The mural was created by Brazilian artist Ricardo Herok, who previously lived in Quarteira for approximately ten years. The artwork, which features various dog breeds, was selected via an anonymous public vote following an ‘Open Call’ organized by the Quarteira Parish Council in partnership with the Policromia Association. The initiative received 33 different proposals.
Designed in collaboration with the Loulé Municipality, the park provides a secure, fenced area for pets and their owners, including support equipment and designated areas for staying. Local officials stated that the project aims to promote animal welfare and enhance community coexistence through urban art.
